In a nutshell

It's a training program with a difference - it's not about any product, and there's no market talk. It's all about leveraging that one piece of technology that all of us carry in our pockets - the smart phone.

Ankur takes us through L&T MF's Smart Phone Program, where you can learn all about a variety of apps that can help you boost your productivity, keep you well informed, market yourself and engage with clients better.

580 distributors across India have leveraged these insights from 23 sessions that Team L&T MF has conducted so far.

We live in the age of smart technology - smart phones, smart watches, smart computers - almost all gadgets have a smarter version of themselves. But how are we using it? Are we making enough use of our smartness to help make our work easier? May be; Maybe not.

Today, in a world where boundaries have been broken, thanks to smart technology, there is no end to the numerous ways we can use this technology to our benefits.

Keeping this objective in mind, we, at L&T Mutual Fund came up with an interesting session for our Independent Financial Advisers to tell them about technology that they could leverage upon to multiply their business - the 'Smart Phone Session.'

The essence of the session being technology, we refrained from going the conventional way with PPTs to explain the concept. Instead we used our prop - the smart phone! The main objective of the session was to teach distributors to enhance their productivity and efficiency amongst the fraternity.

We categorised the multitude of apps that are available today on our smart phones into four sections:

  1. Productivity apps - those apps which could be used to enhance the operational efficiency of their business and let them do their business, on the go

  2. Example: Cam Scanner, Cam cards, Natural Reader

  3. News and knowledge apps - those apps which could help them be abreast of the latest in the industry and share it in their fraternity

  4. Example: Newsstand, In shorts

  5. Marketing apps - these are apps that could help a distributor showcase his talent and expertise in the industry. Basically, market himself

  6. Examples: Brand Express, Photoshop Mix

  7. Communication apps - apps that could help the IFA connect with his investor base from across the world, in just a touch

  8. Example: Cisco WebEx, Prezi, WhatsApp

A pan-India initiative

A total of 23 sessions of "Smart Phone Programme" were conducted all over India and garnered a crowd of over 580 distributors to attend the sessions.

At L&T Mutual Fund, we believe in taking our distributors along in our growth. Thus, making them aware and equipped with the latest in the industry, and technology would help us work together towards growth.
