Mr. Hari and others, The regulator is trying to bring in a lot of changes. Last time, the CPFA exam was split into 2 partsi - X A and X B series, where X A Investment Adviser (Level 1) Certification Examination is available at present. X B series will be implemented in due course of time. Similarly, for MFDs - the Level 1 and Level 2 certifications are needed, but, at present, Mutual Fund Distributors Certification Series V A is mandatory. IN MY VIEW, ADDING QUALIFICATIONS WHEN WE HAVE TIME AND MONEY IS ALWAYS A BETTER IDEA THAN TO WAIT FOR THE REGULATORS TO FORCE US TO WRITE EXAMS.

A lot of courses are available ,like, CFP,CPFA,and this new MFD-LEVEL2. These are all making more confusions. Actually, First, i was planning to take CFA [ The Highest -Level course ] and then, planned to take CPFA and i got study material also and presently, this MFD-LEVEL 2. It is very important that a MF distributor has to update his knowledge , but, how many courses he can study ?. Ravisankar.

I understand CPFA is going to be abolished shortly. Based on course content and utility is it better or infirior to CPFA. Further the accredited wealth planer launched by CIEL Umashasikant with DSP BR where does it stand even though it is not backed by any regulatory or statutory body both for examination and cerification.Look forward for more insight.
